How much does it cost to climb Kilimanjaro?

The cost of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro varies depending on the route, duration, and level of service you choose. Prices typically include park fees, guide and porter services, accommodation on the mountain, and meals during the trek. Additional costs may include flights, gear, tips, and travel insurance.

On average:

  • Budget treks: $1,850–$2,025 per person
  • Mid-range treks: $2,250–$2,850 per person
  • Luxury treks: $3,500+ per person

NOTE: Route and Duration: Longer routes (more days) are generally more expensive due to higher park fees and operation costs.

What's included:

  • 2 Nights Hotel (B&B) in Moshi (pre- and post-climb)
  • All meals on the mountain (breakfast, lunch, dinner, hot drinks)
  • Qualified chief guide, assistant guides, porters, and cook
  • Porter to carry duffel bag (max 15kg/32 lbs)
  • Treated water through the trek
  • Salaries for mountain crew per KINAPA guidelines
  • Kilimanjaro National Park certificate for successful summit attempt
  • Emergency oxygen and pulse oximeter for twice-daily health checks
  • Superior camping equipment (tents, sleeping mats, camp chairs, tables, mess tent)
  • Kilimanjaro National Park Fees, camping fees, and entrance fees + (18% VAT on tour fees and services)
  • Private transport to / from Kilimanjaro International Airport to your hotel in Moshi (each member of your party is required to arrive and depart at the same time)

What's Not included:

  • Flights
  • Tips to mountain crew
  • Personal items (souvenirs, additional snacks).
  • Private portable toilet for the group extra $150
  • Personal hiking/trekking gear – you could rent some of the gear in Tanzania
  • Optional live tracking service – subject to additional cost, depending availability and booking in advance
  • Entry Visa for Tanzania (US$50 per passport holder for most nationalities / US $ 100 per visa for USA passport holders)

The average all-inclusive cost, including flights, is $4,530-$7,760.
